Fishing at Waters Edge

     There are two major tributaries that feed the Blood River Bay area. They would be Wilcat creek and Blood River. People from miles around have always rendered this area to be one of the best for crappie fishing in the spring and fall seasons. Kentucky Lake has many bays that make up her shorelines, but this area is one of the biggest in size. Most of the concentrated crappie fishing is done in the spring, but crappie can be caught in great numbers in the fall through winter as well! Most folks catch crappie with light jigs and minnows. As with most sport fish, they tend to be more aggressive feeders when they are spawning in the springtime. Kentucky Lake is notoriously known for it's great crappie yields!

 There are many different species of fish that can be caught with great success here at Water's Edge Marina. There are many people who catch bluegill, red-ear ( shell-cracker), catfish, largemouth bass,

smallmouth bass, and striped bass. One of the great advantages of having so many great fishing folks around here ........ is just the fact of being able to learn from them and enjoy great conversation as well!

There are many people who enjoy " night fishing " for catfish! Cat fishing on Kentucky Lake is a very exciting sport. There are many very large catfish that have been harvested from Blood River Bay!! Another exciting technique for cats is " jugging" or " noodle" fishing.

Bluegill is another great panfish to catch and can be successfully caught in large numbers through the spring and summer season. Not to mention they are very tasty!

The largemouth bass is one of the most sought after sport-fish around. They are recognized all across the nation as a challenge fish!
